Hutch as two locations, the Bistro in Lakeview and the Cafe (brunch only) in West Loop. Lately I've been on a brunch kick so this has been perfectly fine with me! Being the over achiever that I am (not really haha) I decided to visit both locations! Both spots possess that relaxed, easy-going atmosphere that's essential for the perfect brunch.

For starters at the West Loop location, we picked out the Nutella Dough Poppers for something sweet and balanced them with Totchos with added avocado for savory. I honestly loved them both! The Nutella poppers pair perfectly with a strong coffee, but I will always have a spot spot in my heart for tater tots. (Thanks Napoleon Dynamite!)  We continued down the savory path with The Big Biscuit + Fried Chicken, which arrives topped with two sunny side up eggs on top and a scattering of crunchy bacon. It's great if you're craving something really hearty. Next up was Goat Cheese + Poached Eggs Flatbread which is perfect for sharing. Besides coffee we also had some mimosas: blood orange, peach, grapefruit and orange. My favorite was the grapefruit, sparkly and refreshing!

At the Lakeview location you can order the Ice Cream + Belgian Waffle, and although at first I was hesitant it might be sweetness overload, it turned out to be one of my favorites. It's indulgent and delicious. We also had the Buffalo Fried Chicken which was a favorite among the group.

I could definitely see Hutch becoming one of my go-to's for weekend brunch, although I do recommend calling ahead if it's the weekend. But what brunch place is this not true for on the weekends, really! There are a few more items on the menu I'd like to try (the Spicy Sunset and Croissant French Toast are still calling my name) and the Lakeview location so close to the Red Line. Cheers to brunch!
